ABOUT NU GOLD AND COPPER JEWELRY

NU GOLD

Nu Gold with is a brass alloy that has been specially formulated for jewelry. It has a rich warm color and resembles gold without the high cost of gold. Nu Gold contains 85% copper and 15% zinc and is nickel free.

COPPER

We use pure 100% copper.  Copper could easily be considered one of the world's most popular metals. It has a rich, warm brownish-pink color. It's considered a base metal because it changes color or oxidizes when exposed to air.

♥  Nu gold and copper naturally darkens over time, developing a wonderful antique look. I do treat these metals polishing them to give them a nice bright finish. After that, I add two coating of wax that delayed the antique process. Your nu gold and copper cuffs include a jewelry care card and an anti-tarnish tab.

♥ Some people can have a reaction to these metals that will cause their skin to turn green. The green color is not harmful and will wash off.
If you don’t want to deal with the aging effect, let me know in the notes during checkout, and I will use a protective sealer over the piece to prevent your piece tarnish over time.

♥ All of our jewelry pieces arrive in a lovely box or muslin bag, ready for gifting

925 STERLING SILVER

♥ We use 925 sterling silver.
Sterling silver can tarnish over time if not care properly. Keeping your pieces in a dark dry place while not worn will prevent the darkening of silver.

GOLD FILLED

Gold solid jewelry is, of course, has the most exquisite level of purity. Gold filled is the next level and is a terrific quality alternative to solid gold and affordable too. Gold filled is an actual layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled jewelry look and last like solid gold because its outer surface IS solid gold. You may use gold filled pieces without worries because it doesn't flake off or turn colors.

ALUMINUM

♥ 1100 Pure Aluminum is a great alternative to sterling silver. It is a soft, pliable, yet sturdy metal. It allows the bracelet to be adjustable and the stamping to have a nice deep impression. There is a much lower rate of skin reaction with pure aluminum than with sterling silver. It will never tarnish, discolor or rust. It does not leave green marks on your skin like other metals. Aluminum is a metal that is easy to maintain. It polishes to a nice shine with a polishing cloth and scuffs can be buffed out with a nail buffer found at the nearest beauty store.
